Kostanay is a city with character. It blends industrial might, the vastness of the steppe, and a distinctive, understated aesthetic. This character inspired the creation of the unique CBRB space — a coffee shop and factory that has already become a new focal point for locals and visitors alike.
When the Coffee Boom team conceived the project in Kostanay, it was important not to simply build another coffee shop, but to create a place that resonates with the city, its history, and its people. As a result, the interior of CBRB in Kostanay is a complete statement, where every detail is meaningful, and the entire ensemble tells the story of how a coffee bean becomes art.
Blue
code
of the city
The project's main color is blue. It was chosen deliberately: its shades are taken from the Kostanay flag, familiar to every resident since childhood. This color greets us at the entrance to the Leo Tolstoy Regional Library, in the facade of the drama theater, and even at the central stadium. At CBRB, blue becomes a cultural code: it is present in the design of the equipment, in interior accents, and in the smallest details — from the signs to the lighting.

Openness without borders
The CBRB KOSTANAY concept is based on the industry and large-scale manufacturing that shaped the city's image: Alyur, Bayan Sulu, and Arasan. The coffee shop is conceived as a coffee factory, but with one key twist: there are no walls between the customer and the process. The "no boards" concept means complete openness: the roasting area, the degassing unit, and the bean transportation — all of it takes place right before the customer's eyes.
There are very few projects in the world where you can see open coffee roasting. Even in large cities, these areas are often separated by glass. CBRB KOSTANAY is the first coffee shop in Kostanay to completely remove this barrier. Guests can approach the roasting machine, observe it at work, and ask questions —thus fostering a true connection with the product.
The heart of the project —
Weroast roasting machine
At the center of the roasting area is a roasting machine, finished in the signature blue color. Its design was developed by Weroast Unique Design team specifically for this project: the engraving of the Coffee Boom logo, the equipment layout, and the color scheme are unique to any other coffee shop. More than just a machine, the roaster has become the focal point of the space and a symbol of the entire project.
Next to it is a degassing zone, styled like a factory floor. After roasting, the coffee undergoes an important resting and stabilizing phase in stainless steel containers. Each container is numbered, and a recording system tracks the degassing time — this guarantees a pure and balanced taste in every cup. But even this functional area has been transformed into an art object: light panels, shelves with branded paraphernalia, and thoughtful presentation make it part of the overall visual narrative.
Levitating coffee:
Weroast FLOW
One of the most striking interior details is the Weroast FLOW pneumatic bean transport system. Four conveyor lines, running throughout the first floor, deliver freshly roasted coffee from the roasting area directly to the bar. Three lines lead to the barista, and the fourth, a closed loop, returns the beans.
The bar is equipped with receiving silos styled like industrial bunkers. This is part of the FLOW system, which receives the beans from the pipes and delivers them to the baristas.
Taste lab:
Weroast FROZ
For rare and collectible coffe lots, CBRB KOSTANAY uses the Weroast FROZ freezing system. After degassing, the beans are distributed into glass tubes with check valves and then placed in a freezer at -20°C. Under these conditions, metabolic processes slow down by 16 times, preserving flavor and aroma for weeks and even months.
This makes the space a true laboratory: you can try a unique lot today and come back to it in a month — the taste will remain the same. Each variety has its own individual description board, color-coded (blue for iced, white and gray for espresso), helping guests navigate the variety.
Installations

At CBRB KOSTANAY, every area has been carefully designed, and many of them are not only practical but also artistically valuable
At the entrance, there's a paired installation — two vertical structures hanging side by side. They read, in two languages (English and Kazakh), "We carefully roast specialty coffee beans.".
This installation is a symbol of the CBRB concept. "Specialty" here reflects not only the coffee's SCA rating but also the entire philosophy of working with beans. It includes careful bean selection, a detailed roasting profile, various brewing methods, and fully transparent processes and bean styles. The main goal is to immerse visitors in coffee culture, demonstrating every stage using open equipment. Thus, the phrase at the entrance becomes a manifesto of an open and careful approach to coffee — from growing on farms to brewing your drinks.
The "Coffee Roasting Profile" installation deserves special attention: metal plaques and circles with beans changing color from green to dark brown visualize the process that takes place inside the roaster. It's both an art object and a visualization of how coffee "lives" its life in the drum: from loading with green beans to unloading. 11 minutes and 204°C — the roasting mode for one of the lots for the CBRB project. Its blue color references the project's signature color.
This is a standalone art object, designed in a retro style. Instead of digital screens, there are magnetic signs, which the team changes manually. This analog approach in the digital age creates a unique, cozy atmosphere. The kilogram count is highlighted in the signature blue color — the main focus of the installation, which lives alongside the production, updating as volumes grow.
In the fresh roasted coffee area, guests are greeted by a light console with the word "ROASTERS" — a reference to international coffee culture. Nearby, a jute bag with the Weroast and CBRB logos symbolizes the green bean's journey from plantation to production, and a display rack in the signature blue allows customers to purchase freshly roasted coffee on-site.
The second floor of the project features an installation of V60 coffee cones, hand-painted by artist Asan Serikkazyevich Boronchinov. The same artist worked on the CBRB project in Astana. The installation becomes an art object that decorates the space and connects coffee culture with the culture of Kazakhstan.
The painting uses national motifs. Four narrative lines are highlighted: mountains, shinarak (yurt dome), national ornamentation, and elements of movement — the sun and arrow — which can be perceived as the passage of time. Each cone is unique, not a single one is repeated, yet they are grouped precisely according to these four themes. The images can be viewed from left to right or from right to left, creating a sense of continuous movement.
In the CBRB KOSTANAY space, guests are greeted by another meaningful detail — an installation dedicated to the countries from which green beans are imported for roasting. Several slats or light panels, designed in a minimalist industrial style, list the names: Kenya, Brazil, Peru, Rwanda.
Samples of beans from each region are displayed under glass, allowing you to not only see the geography but also compare the appearance, color, and size of beans from different parts of the world.
CBRB at Kostanay is a place where every cup tells its own story, and the city takes on a new coffee vibe.
CBRB KOSTANAY is a multisensory experience. Here, coffee is more than just a drink. It becomes a story to be seen, heard, and felt. From the green beans in vacuum-sealed containers to the finished product flowing through the pipes, every step is open to the guest. This is a place where industrial aesthetics meet art, and technology serves not only efficiency but also inspiration.
